*Smile* (Vol.1)

On a bit of an unrelated note, I wanted to do a quick post and share a little something that made me smile today with all of you. Since I’m a big believer in promoting things that bring us joy & make us feel good, despite our daily grievances and assorted stresses, I’ll be making this a semi-regular feature and spreading the positive vibe whenever I chance upon it… Enjoy & have an amazing rest of the day!

100 Followers Giveaway…

I am ecstatic (& if I have to be honest quite proud) to say that Lifestyle Counter has just hit 100 followers! As a token of my appreciation for all you loyal readers out there (without who this blog would literally mean nothing) I have decided to run a small – international – giveaway. Unfortunately I see no way of embedding the relevant Rafflecopter widget here, so I’ve published all relevant info on my Facebook page, instead. Do make a point of dropping by and checking it out (especially if you are in the mood for a free Benefit/ Matthew Williamson: The Rich is Back! Limited Edition High Fashion Makeup Kit). Once again, a big thank you to each and every one of you for keeping up with my daily ramblings and… best of luck should you decide to enter the raffle! Update: The Giveaway has now officially ended and the winner is …(drumroll please)… Bianca Rogoveanu! The winner will now be contacted by e-mail, in order to arrange delivery. A big thank you to …

World Wildlife Magazine

Lately, I have been thinking about how I have totally neglected my ‘Eco/Activism’ posts – and need to rectify this ASAP. Just having checked my e-mail, I now have something that fits the bill and may interest some of you. WWF has recently released an app, for its new, quarterly ‘World Wildlife’ magazine, a publication dealing with a host of interesting issues. The second installment explores, amongst others: Myanmar (its people, economy & natural resources) Fun facts about the Parsons frog Recent efforts to protect the Amazon The lives of tigers, bears & whales Solar savings Cooking with bio-gas Individual perspectives on a variety of issues The environmental costs of cotton If user reviews on iTunes are anything to go by, the dedicated app is very well designed and makes browsing an absolute pleasure. According to WWF the free app edition is also available on Google Play (I have yet to suss it out though, so it might not yet be available in Greece) & Amazon Marketplace. And, if all else fails, issues are also …

New Year, New Color: Radiant Orchid Tweaks

Just a quick, blogging related note, to point out the fact that I have slightly tweaked Lifestyle Counter – colorwise. I’m hoping for/ working towards more significant changes to the site, but thought I’d start by changing the small stuff. So… What do you think of my Radiant Orchid (Pantone’s Color of the Year 2014) colored theme? Love it? Hate it? Can you even tell the difference? I would love to hear your thoughts (on this and any other changes/ additions you might enjoy seeing on Lifestyle Counter)!

Two Thumbs Up for Down Under

I am a big believer in giving credit where credit’s due, so I feel like I need to post this: In late 2012 I purchased a 2013 Santoro Gorjuss Wall Calendar, which brandished my office walls and made me happy through the year. I loved it so much I knew, without a doubt, that I wanted to get the 2014 one too. Unfortunately I procrastinated for way too long and by January the 8th, when I finally decided to place an order, “my precious” seemed to be totally sold out – everywhere. I clicked practically every single link Google came up with, to no avail, until I chanced upon a calendar site which seemed to still have it in stock. I was (smugly) over-the-moon happy until… I realized the company was based in Australia! Despite being slightly dubious, I decided to go ahead and risk late or damaged delivery (Australia to Greece is no small feat for a cardboard box, mind you). I ordered, paid (quickly & easily through PayPal), chose Express delivery, then crossed …
