Pick Your Five: ZARA Special Price

Now, I need to start by saying I “blame” this purely on Mostly Me + Certain Others (#instigator). This popped up on my WordPress Reader, earlier this morning – and led to my discovering an entire “special price” section on the ZARA website (which I… 1. curiously knew nothing about, 2. promptly browsed through and 3. am now itching to buy half of …). You might wanna drop by and have a look, especially if you’re into the mood for some guilt- free, treat- yourself, pre- holiday shopping or in need of grabbing some budget gifts for family and friends (nothing I saw was priced over 30€). Meanwhile, to get you in the right frame of mind, here’s five items that took my fancy: [Images: ZARA]

Ones’ to Watch: Olivia Burton

If you happen to know me, you are probably aware that one of my favorite accessories (after years of going without one and relying on my mobile phone instead) is my trusted  Cluse watch. I am absolutely in love with its minimal design and ‘barely there’ sensation and am seldomly caught without it. That said, I have lately been itching to buy another, something with a slightly more ‘feminine’ vibe to it – possibly in rose gold, with some sort of nude or pastel strap. The obvious choice would be to stick with Cluse and maybe get a couple of the, exchangeable, straps while at it – right? Wrong… Enter Olivia Burton. Founded in London, by two best friends, back in 2011, the label makes some of the most gorgeously feminine watches I have come across. Case in point: its Abstract Florals collection which had me reeling. I mean, how beautiful is this? If the 38mm dial (above) came with a leather strap (which it doesn’t, unfortunately) I would have gone ahead and bought it …

Style File: Alessandro Giada Luxury Bags

Surprise, surprise… I’ve gone and fallen in love with yet another exorbitantly expensive brand (#eyeroll). Enter Alessandro Giada Luxury Bags. Featured in Vogue, Glamour and GQ their, beautifully crafted, leather pieces are a statement blend of three of my favorite things: fashion, art and architecture.   In the company’s own words: “Each accessory is the result of study and always inspired by the art and architecture world, particularly by the Bauhaus experience, De Stijl and the works of Piet Mondrian and Le Corbusier.” In each piece color-blocking combines with geometry and a variety of textures to produce a stunning, one-of-a-kind effect. And with both edgier & more sophisticated designs, there’s something for every discerning fashionista to choose from. So, if you’re looking to invest in a top quality piece of arm candy I’d look no further. The, small but impressive, collection ships internationally (with payment handled by PayPal) and your object of desire will – according to estimates – be within your grasp (no pun intended) in no longer than 20 working days, depending on …

Fashion Obsession of the Day

or… why I should probably cancel my Zinio subscriptions… So, there I was feeling bored the other day when I thought: why not kill some time, catching up on the latest issues of my favorite glossies? Two words: BAD IDEA. A mere seven pages into it, I bumped into the Fall 2017 MICHAEL by Michael Kors campaign by Mario Testino. You know, the one where Taylor Hill & Romee Strijd hit London in a flurry of leather, studs and faux fur (#love)… Now, I’m absolutely obsessed with this Studded Jersey Dress which, if not for the price tag, would be the most perfect oufit for the upcoming holiday season (well, it is the 7th of November, so I’m allowed to get a little bit Christmass-y, no?). I could totally see myself going out for drinks on Christmas or NY’s Eve sporting this – coupled by a dainty pair of black sandals, a little black clutch and a rock attitude. If you feel the same, and would be willing to splash out, hurry ’cause this particular …

Pick Your Five: Balmain x H&M

The Balmain x H&M collection has finally hit shelves in Greece and, to be honest, it is not exactly everything I had been hoping for (*insert collective fashionista gasp here*). That probably has to do with the fact that I’m more of a plain Jane when it comes to my wardrobe – so all the feathers and sequins and embroidery just isn’t rocking my boat. That said, there is a few select pieces I would have definitely grabbed, provided I was inclined to spend a sizable chunk of money (which, at the moment, is truly not in huge supply) and travel to Athens to stoically squeeze myself in line at the one H&M store that carries the collection. Here’s my coveted top 5: The Dressy Dress A girl can never have too many little black dresses and, in classic Balmain fashion, this totally knocks it out of the park (no unnecessary frills included). The Casual Dress Cause there is nothing like a bold everyday piece to instantly lift your mood and make those dreary winter …
