Need to try > Body Shop Honey Bronze (& new eyeliner) Range

It has become quite evident to me lately that I am developing a bit of a Body Shop addiction. I guess it’s no wonder really, what with the company stepping up its game greatly these last few years, but I often find myself browsing their shelves (and, most often than not, leaving with a couple of new things in my possession). During my latest trip there I picked up the Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream (which I’m still trialing and will review soon) and also checked out the new Honey Bronze collection products – resulting in a bit of a “to try” list (as featured above). I am especially interested in the little, handy Highlighting Dome – which swatched dreamily in-store and immediately got me wondering what its effect would be like on a fully made- up face. The Face Gel and Bronzing Powder sound quite intriguing, too – especially now that it’s still early days tan- wise and we could all use a bit of a boost in the summer glow department. As for the …

Beauty Obsession of the Day…

To those of you who know me, personally, this is sure to seem like quite the odd choice. For the rest, let me explain: I have never really been a fan of Kenzo fragrances, which I always found too flowery and girly for my liking. That basically means it’s been forever since I’ve even contemplated stopping by the Kenzo counter to check anything out. This weekend, my friend K. visited from Athens and we arranged to meet for lunch, dessert and a cup of coffee. On our way we, typically, stopped by one of the major department stores downtown to check out a couple of things (she wanted to buy an umbrella, I wanted to find out whether the Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes were in yet). After having, inadvertently, bought a Bourjois Rouge Velvet and a Chanel Rouge Coco (more on that in a future post) and while on the way out, I crossed the store’s perfume corner where – for some inexplicable reason – this rose gold bottle (gorgeously designed by Karim Rashid) …

Beauty (& Health) Obsession of the Day

I swear… Every time I check my inbox, there’s at least one newsletter there promoting something I suddenly realize I absolutely need to try. Case in point, from today: FOUNTAIN Molecules. According to the Look Fantastic e-mail which introduced me to the brand: “FOUNTAIN is focused on offering water-soluble, highly bio-available forms of proven health and beauty nutrients in easy-to-take liquid formats.”. Or, simply put, liquid supplements with a twist. Since its launch in August 2013, FOUNTAIN has apparently become one of the #1 selling supplement brands in the UK (and, if their products work as good as they look/ sound, I guess I can see why). I was immediately drawn to their sleek packaging and clever marketing and promptly visited the FOUNTAIN website, to check out the full Molecules range. Available products fall under 3 categories: Look Good (with supplements for skin, hair and nails), Feel Good (with mood and energy supplements) & Be Good (with overall good health oriented supplements). Following some looking around, I have decided I’d like to try the Pomegranate …

The MPP (MAC Pro-Palette) Project > Intro

You probably can’t really tell, since I don’t post photos of makeup looks on Lifestyle Counter, but I am a huge eye-shadow girl. I could happily use the same base/blush/lash products everyday but I need to change it up daily when it comes to eye color (& lipstick, of course, but that kind of goes without saying). I do currently own a number of eye palettes (Too Faced Natural Eyes, Benefit World Famous Neutrals, AVON Hollywood Collection True Color 8 in 1 in Silver Screen, AVON True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Stone Taupes, KIKO Color Fever Eyeshadow Palette in 100, Sleek 731 Ultra Mattes V2 and Sleek 596 Bad Girl) along with some odd bits and bobs (Max Factor Excess Shimmers in 30 Onyx/ 25 Bronze and 20 Copper, MAC Sable, MAC Woodwinked, MAC Lucky Green and MAC Goldmine) but have somehow never really got into thinking about putting together a customized MAC Pro Palette until now (which I find extremely weird, but anyway). There comes a time for everything though, and considering my minor …
