Cara Delevingne for Mulberry Spring Summer 2014

In Mulberry’s latest campaign (photographed by Tim Walker, styled by Edward Enninful & art directed by Ronnie Cooke Newhouse), Cara Delevingne joins forces with a Parson’s Jack Russell, a Patterdale Terrier, a Great Dane, a pelican, two cockatoos, a tortoise and a little white pony – to showcase the  SS2014 collection by the British luxury label… Now, don’t get me wrong, Mulberry’s stuff is gorgeous but I’ll still have to abstain – on principle. Plus, no matter how cute I think all these animals look, I can’t help but ponder how convenient this animal kingdom selection is for the company. It certainly wouldn’t do to have calves, goats, ostriches & buffalos on this particular set, now would it? Seven Deadly Sins of Makeup Tag

A couple of days ago I was tagged, by the lovely Ginger (of Ginger Loves Makeup), to answer the ‘Seven Deadly Sins of Makeup’ questions. First of all a big thank you to Ginger, for enjoying my blog/ writing enough to wanna include me in this (Thanks sweetie! I really appreciate it). And now…let’s get cracking on the actual tag questions: Greed: What’s your most expensive beauty item? If perfume counts, that would have to be my Tom Ford ‘Black Orchid’ (@ a whopping 54€ for the 30ml bottle, it ranks as the most expensive perfume I have ever bought). If not, however, I guess I’d have to go with one of my latest buys – the large Benefit Porefessional primer (44ml @ 45€). Wrath: What item do you have a strong love/hate relationship with? Currently that would have to be my Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Tints. I absolutely love their lip counterparts and had really great expectations going in, on account of that (plus all the positive beauty blogger feedback). Still feel like I should love …

New Year, New Color: Radiant Orchid Tweaks

Just a quick, blogging related note, to point out the fact that I have slightly tweaked Lifestyle Counter – colorwise. I’m hoping for/ working towards more significant changes to the site, but thought I’d start by changing the small stuff. So… What do you think of my Radiant Orchid (Pantone’s Color of the Year 2014) colored theme? Love it? Hate it? Can you even tell the difference? I would love to hear your thoughts (on this and any other changes/ additions you might enjoy seeing on Lifestyle Counter)!

Products used: Erre Due Diamond Base Coat 6.49€ Avon Nailware Pro+ in Vintage Boutique (183939) 9.80€ Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat 15.60€ First Impressions: Those who know me, know that brown is generally not one of my favorite colors but I do like this light, latte one from Avon’s Nailware Pro+ range. Though the brush on this (and most Avon polishes, to be honest) is nothing special, the color did glide on easily – with good payoff and no evident streaking. The average drying time of the polish (not as short as the Speed Dry+ 30 range one, but still quite satisfactory) was drastically diminished to 1-2 minutes by my marvelous, precious new top coat – making me quite the happy camper for the second week in a row. As far as durability goes (& judging from my previous experience with Nailware Pro+) I’m certain this will last a full 7 days of banging away on my keyboard – with no evident chipping. Two Thumbs Up for Down Under

I am a big believer in giving credit where credit’s due, so I feel like I need to post this: In late 2012 I purchased a 2013 Santoro Gorjuss Wall Calendar, which brandished my office walls and made me happy through the year. I loved it so much I knew, without a doubt, that I wanted to get the 2014 one too. Unfortunately I procrastinated for way too long and by January the 8th, when I finally decided to place an order, “my precious” seemed to be totally sold out – everywhere. I clicked practically every single link Google came up with, to no avail, until I chanced upon a calendar site which seemed to still have it in stock. I was (smugly) over-the-moon happy until… I realized the company was based in Australia! Despite being slightly dubious, I decided to go ahead and risk late or damaged delivery (Australia to Greece is no small feat for a cardboard box, mind you).
