Stradivarius Haul

Having allocated most of my budget on beauty items lately, I recently found myself itching for a little bit of a fashion fix. Some days ago, on an impromptu visit to Stradivarius, I found a way to rectify just that. Here’s what my (dresses & accessories) haul consisted of:

Stripe Print Structured Dress, 29.95€

A great little dress that can be easily worn at any point of the day. I’ve donned it both for coffee with friends and a night out – with equal success, compliment wise.

Leopard Print Tube Dress, 25.95€ (now on sale for 12.99€ )

Tube dresses are not what I’d typically buy but I thought, this time, I’d go out on a limb. Haven’t really worn this yet but looking forward too.

Leopard Print Dress with Zip Detail, 25.95€  (now on sale for 12.99€ )

This is gorgeous and light and easy-going and… I can’t wait to put it on and go out dancing this coming Saturday!

Plain Handbag, 12.95€

One of the best, little bags I’ve ever got at a ridicilously low price. This has so much space inside it’s almost unbelievable! Plus, it’s got both a hand-strap handle (which I absolutely love) and a long shoulder strap – making it equally easy to use during the day or on a night out.

Quilted Ballerinas, 17.95€ (now on sale for 9.99€ )

Gorgeous and really soft, these will most certainly become one of my go-to pairs of flats for the coming months (mild Greek winter weather allowing).

Still have my eye on a couple of other things I noticed while there so, knowing me, you should probably expect another haul post – sooner rather than later. For now, I’d love to hear what you think of my latest buys. Love them? Hate them? And, what about Stradivarius? Are you a fan or would you rather go for higher- end items? Feel free to sound off below…

Welcome to the Mother-hood…

In a bit of an unrelated post…Saw this yesterday over @ Maison Bentley Style and thought it too funny not to share. So, having acquired permission, this one’s for all of you out there trying to tackle being a (beautiful, fashionable) woman, a professional and a mom…

Sunday Manicure (Vol.10)

After the brief, festive reprieve of last week, Sunday Manicure’s back. To make up for taking time off, today’s volume is kind of a double-whammy: I’m testing both a new color and a much talked about speed-drying top coat.

  Products used:
Erre Due Diamond Base Coat 6.49€
Sephora Color Hit Nail Polish in no.75, Blackjack 5.40€
Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat 15.60€

First Impressions:
This week’s nail polish is from my favorite Sephora line (see other colors I own here, here and here), so my impressions couldn’t really be anything but favorable. The fantastic, ergonomic brush made application a piece of cake, while the color (a sparkling greyish black) glided on like a dream – as per usual. These polishes dry quick anyway, but today I wanted to try the (raved- about- by- beauty- bloggers- everywhere) famous, Seche Vite top coat. Now, being fully aware of the fact that I’m ridiculously late in doing so, I have to sing this product’s praises review this. Let me start by saying it’ s one of the thickest top coats I’ve ever used. If that’s not your cup of tea, do think twice before you buy. It’s also got quite a strong smell (which might be annoying to some) compared to other, similar products. If, however, you can find it in your hearts to get past those couple of things you’ll get… drum roll please… dry nails in 1-2 minutes (!!) & a gorgeous, mirror-like finish. Do be careful when applying this (you should try to get in an’out real quick or it will smudge) & make sure your cuticles are free of any polish residue before applying (hard to explain but just trust me on this).

Any of you tried Seche Vite? Do you think it’s worth the hype (and price tag)?

Oops, I did it again…

Earlier today, I bumped into a post by the lovely Ruth Crilly of A Model Recommends showcasing the KIKO Ultra Glossy Stylo lipstick set.

Her little review led to my googling the brand (for those of you who are not yet familiar with it KIKO is an Italian based, professional makeup & skin care company), checking out other beauty blogger reviews of their products and visiting the dedicated website to check the range out for myself.

BIG MISTAKE!

A couple of hours later, not only am I registered with them but I have also put in a slightly obscene order – for about 80€ worth of products :O

I am now feeling guilty and over- excited, in equal measures, and cannot wait to get my hands on their package and start trying out all the new & exciting stuff I’ve got.

I will be posting a (mega) haul review, as soon as I’ve got a chance to sample everything – so do check back if you wanna see how all the different products turned out.

Meanwhile, you can explore the brand yourselves @ KIKO Cosmetics EU (or go to the main website and select your country of residence).

Have fun (and please make sure you keep your credit card somewhere safe)!

Would you rather…tag

A couple of days ago, the lovely Ginger from “Ginger Loves Makeup” left me a comment, inviting me to tackle the ‘Would you Rather’ tag  (a first, since I resurfaced and changed my blog focus back in October). So, let me begin by thanking her (thanks a mill sweetie!!) and then diving right in…

1. Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?
I think a face can still look pretty stunning without eye shadow, as long as the lips are bright and the eyes well-defined (ie. with a gorgeous cat eye and va- va- voom mascara), so I guess I’d rather give up my palettes and eye shadows.

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
I’d go absolutely stir crazy if I knew I couldn’t play around with my hair anymore – so… chop it off, I say!

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Not a huge fan of pink – it makes me feel a bit Barbie-ish, if I have to be honest. So I’d rather have a coral cheek, for sure (suits my mediterranean complexion better, anyways).

4. If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
I’ve been stockpiling clothes forever – whereas my makeup obsession started quite recently. I’ve currently got so many items on my beauty wish list that £1000 would actually come in pretty handy – where do I sign up?

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
None. But (if I am allowed to cheat, just a bit, here) I would consider applying lip liner as eyeliner.

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
As much as I adore MAC… one brand vs. Sephora? Is that even a question??

7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?
That would definitely have to be one eyeshadow color. I would choose a neutral, champagne sparkle (kinda like the one in the Bobbi Brown Old Hollywood Eye Palette), then dress it up or down with eyeliner, mascara and… my variety of lipstick colors.

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Winter clothes in the 40°C, Greek summer heat??? Uhmmm, sorry, but NO! I do have a high tolerance as far as cold weather is concerned, though and often wear summer clothes in winter – with the addition of subtle layers.

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
I’m a bit of a goth at heart so, if I had to chose, I’d go with the dark ones. There’s always products to keep them shiny and interesting, anyway – should one get bored.

10. Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?
I wouldn’t give up my right to a classic cat-eye, not in a million years! Take away whichever lip product you prefer. I’m sure I’ll find a new favorite to replace it with, in no time.

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Unfortunately, despite the fact that I love messy buns, I absolutely suck at putting them together. I’d have to go with ponytails – or I’d look permanently frumpy… That said, neither is an option for me at the mo, since my hair has been quite short for a while.

12. Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lipgloss?
Not a big fan of lip gloss so, for me, that’s a bit of a no brainer…

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
I’d rather keep my eyebrows, thank you! If, however, I happened to lose them for whatever reason I highly doubt I’d sharpie them in everyday (apart from the huge morning hassle… with my brow grooming skills, I’d probably look ridiculous!).

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
If I was forced to, I might be able to live with just a couple of makeup basics – foundation, powder, mascara, lipstick. Could never live without any makeup though… Nail polish? I’d miss it but I’d find a way to move on (probably investing the money I would save on more, new & exciting makeup products – hehehe).

If you’ve made it this far down, consider yourself tagged. Now, go and have lots of fun completing this! I know I did…
