NYFW Darlings (Vol.1): Badgley Mischka

With New York’s Fashion Week all done and dusted, I thought I’d do a Top 10 of my favorite collections. Labeled ‘NYFW Darlings’ this series will feature (in alphabetical order) the designers that took me by storm & had me wishing for a lottery win/unexpected inheritance/ money drop from heaven – just so that I could get my hands on some of their stunning pieces… There will be no commentary involved, as all the designs featured actually speak volumes for themselves. And so, without further ado, here’s NYFW Darlings Vol.1: The inimitable Badgley Mischka… {Images: NYMag/The Cut}

Fashion Obsession of the Day…

Part of the latest Diane Von Furstenberg/ Andy Warhol collaboration, this little number has stolen my heart. Will it also (@440€) steal a sizeable chunk of my monthly salary? The jury, my dear readers, is still out on that one… You can check out the full ‘Pop Wrap’ collection online, here. {Image © Diane Von Furstenberg}

Ones to Watch: Klaidra Jewelry

After (what I’ll admit has been) a long time, “Ones to Watch’ is back with another extra- special design duo: the sisters, Klairi & Faidra Gaspari. Klairi & Faidra have, according to their own account, always been interested in making things -especially those they’d love to wear but couldn’t find in stores. A couple of years back they decided to share their passion with all of us and… the rest is history. Velvet, leather, suede & feathers combine with tassels & pom pons to create the most amazing jewelry – which immediately lifts even the simplest of outfits. You can find more about Klaidra (including info on stockists) here and you can also purchase some of their designs online here. {All images © Klaidra}

Elie Saab Spring/Summer 2014 Couture Collection

Once again, Elie Saab created a breathtaking collection that looks like it has been taken  straight out from  fairy tale. Delicate lace, floral details, subtle sheerness, crystal embellishments,  soft, romantic colors like coral, soft pink, champagne and some black…  every piece from this collection is a masterpiece. Presenting you my favorite pieces from the Elie Saab S/S 2014 Haute Couture collection  inspired by the work of Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema. Photo credit: http://www.vogue.co.uk/

Cara Delevingne for Mulberry Spring Summer 2014

In Mulberry’s latest campaign (photographed by Tim Walker, styled by Edward Enninful & art directed by Ronnie Cooke Newhouse), Cara Delevingne joins forces with a Parson’s Jack Russell, a Patterdale Terrier, a Great Dane, a pelican, two cockatoos, a tortoise and a little white pony – to showcase the  SS2014 collection by the British luxury label… Now, don’t get me wrong, Mulberry’s stuff is gorgeous but I’ll still have to abstain – on principle. Plus, no matter how cute I think all these animals look, I can’t help but ponder how convenient this animal kingdom selection is for the company. It certainly wouldn’t do to have calves, goats, ostriches & buffalos on this particular set, now would it? You can check out Mulberry’s full campaign (including all leather goods) here. {Campaign video & images © Mulberry}
