Fashion Obsession of the Day

I just discovered Cadenzza, an amazing online jewellery store. Along with it I also discovered, among many others, Mr. Anton Heunis & his timelessly elegant range of handmade jewellery. His stunning pieces include “drop earrings, pendants, cluster necklaces and rings – all plated in gold, silver, rhodium or gunmetal and set with Swarovski crystals or resin and glass stones“. Technical details aside all of his designs are simply jaw- dropping and, if I have to be honest, I think you owe it to yourself to visit Cadenzza & order something! Darn, that’s exactly what I would have done, if only online orders could be shipped to Greece (instead, I’m just dying a bit inside…). Off to look into whether I can get these elsewhere. If you happen to have any idea, do leave a comment below. [Image: © Cadenzza/ Anton Heunis]

Vintage Love (Vol.1)

About a month ago a fantastic, new vintage shop opened its doors – around my neck of the woods. It’s called ‘Motel’ Vintage Store and is owned by the cutest (& nicest) young couple I’ve had the pleasure of meeting lately. They take regular trips abroad (UK, Italy, Germany, The Netherlands et.al.) and bring back some of the most amazing vintage pieces, for sale at silly, silly prices. It was there that I found (and promptly purchased, of course) this absolutely gorgeous 70’s, merino-wool, Goldworm dress (unworn) – which I have literally fallen head over heels with! Considering there will be many more “check-ins” at this particular Motel, I’m instituting a new blog post category called “Vintage Love” to feature future finds (say that 10 times real quick, lol). Do make a point of checking it out, if vintage is your kind of thing. And, if you happen to live around here and are a vintage fan, make sure to drop by this place. I’m pretty sure you won’t be disappointed… {Image: © Motel Vintage …

NYFW Darlings (Vol.10): Zac Posen

Today’s post concludes ‘NYFW Darlings’ with a feature of Zac Posen‘s Fall 2014 RTW collection. Despite the fact that many of his designs were not exactly what I’d call my cup of tea – there were still a few that caught my eye and captured my heart (so I had to give him a spot in the Top 10). Here’s my 10 favorites, followed (after the ‘break’) by the rest of the collection… {Images: NYMag/The Cut}

NYFW Darlings (Vol.9): Tadashi Shoji

With two Volumes yet to go, today’s ‘NYFW Darlings’ is dedicated to Tadashi Shoji. With lots of darker, jewel- like colors and intricate embroidery his Fall 2014 RTW collection just ‘hit the nail on the head’ for me – so to speak. Here’s my 12 favorite desings, followed (after the ‘break’) by the rest of the collection… {Images: NYMag/The Cut}

Pick Your Five: Oscars’ 2014 Best Dressed

With the 86th Annual Academy Awards all done and the Hollywood glamour & glitter still vivid in my mind, it is clearly time for a Best Dressed Top 5. I’ll start counting backwards with Cate Blanchett and her stunning Swarovski encrusted Armani Prive – at no. 5: Next up is Camila Alves and her arrestingly simple (and husband coordinated) Gabriela Cadena gown – at no. 4: Moving on, it’s time for the ever gorgeous Angelina Jolie and her intricately beaded Elie Saab – at no.3: Nearing the top, I gravitate towards Sandra Bullock and her classically stunning Alexander McQueen dress – at no.2: And finally, first place is reserved for the amazing, jaw- droppingly dazzling Kate Hudson in her resplendent, Old Hollywood, Atelier Versace number: Honorable mention goes to: Sarah Paulson (in Elie Saab), Idina Menzel (in Vera Wang), Amy Adams (in Gucci Premiere), Meryl Streep (in Lanvin), Olivia Wilde (in Valentino)  & Maria Menounos (in Johanna Johnson). What did you think of the Oscars’ Red Carpet fashion this year? Any favorites? {Images: © Getty …
