Sunday Manicure (Vol.3)

Products used: Avon Nail Experts Revitacool Base Coat – No Longer Available Sephora Color Hit Nail Polish in no.51, Be a Rebel 5.40€ Erre Due Ceramic Top Coat 6.50€ First Impressions: This week’s nail polish is from the same Sephora line as last Sunday’s, so first impressions are pretty much similar. Application was precise and effortless (thanks to the very handy brush), the dark purple, “goth meets chic”, color glided on perfectly and dried real quick and I do believe that the overall result could very well be mistaken for a professional mani or even a shellac (thanks to the amazingly shiny, ceramic top coat by Erre Due). If last week is anything to go by, I think this will keep me happy until next Saturday – when time for the next “Sunday Manicure” comes…

Press Play: Audible Weekly (11/11- 17/11/2013)

Expo 58 by Jonathan Coe From Audible: London, 1958: unassuming civil servant Thomas Foley is plucked from his desk at the Central Office of Information and sent on a six-month trip to Brussels. His task: to keep an eye on The Brittania, a brand new pub which will form the heart of the British presence at Expo 58 – the biggest World’s Fair of the century, and the first to be held since the Second World War. As soon as he arrives at the site, Thomas feels that he has escaped a repressed, backward-looking country and fallen headlong into an era of modernity and optimism. He is equally bewitched by the surreal, gigantic Atomium, which stands at the heart of this brave new world, and by Anneke, the lovely Flemish hostess who meets him off his plane. But Thomas’s new-found sense of freedom comes at a price: the Cold War is at its height, the mischievous Belgians have placed the American and Soviet pavilions right next to each other – and why is he being …

Color me Dior…

Ever since “La Vie en Rose” I have been utterly mesmerized by, the gorgeous and effortlessly chic, Marion Cotillard. In preparing my next “Coming Soon” post, about the upcoming Dior “Golden Winter” Christmas Make-Up Collection 2013 I visited Dior Mag and bumped into the latest Lady Dior Resort 2014 print ad campaign. Shot by British photographer Tim Walker, the campaign features the stunning, Academy Award-winning actress, clad in Raf Simons‘ 2014 Resort Collection & showcasing two of the new, colorful Lady Dior bags – in front of equally colorful canvases. It takes just one look at the photos above for anyone to realise exactly why the French actress has been the face of the House of Dior for the last 5 years (and counting). {Source: Dior Mag}

High- Tech Animal Hugs

If I have to be honest, it’s been quite some time since I have last owned an iPhone (since before the iPhone4 release, to be precise). I am more of an HTC fan these days (at least until something comes along by Samsung that does not feel like flimsy, crumble-in-your-hands designer plastic to me). That said, I recently found myself wishing I still had an iPhone – if only to be able to make use of these amazingly cute & girly, protective cases by Moschino. My heart literally skipped a bit when I first saw them – especially the little bunny one (I know, I know… but the child in me refuses to be silenced!). The collection includes iPhone4, iPhone5, iPad & iPad Mini cases (with prices ranging from 45€- 93€) and you can see it in full detail on the Moschino Online Store (by clicking here).
