World Wildlife Magazine

Lately, I have been thinking about how I have totally neglected my ‘Eco/Activism’ posts – and need to rectify this ASAP. Just having checked my e-mail, I now have something that fits the bill and may interest some of you. WWF has recently released an app, for its new, quarterly ‘World Wildlife’ magazine, a publication dealing with a host of interesting issues. The second installment explores, amongst others: Myanmar (its people, economy & natural resources) Fun facts about the Parsons frog Recent efforts to protect the Amazon The lives of tigers, bears & whales Solar savings Cooking with bio-gas Individual perspectives on a variety of issues The environmental costs of cotton If user reviews on iTunes are anything to go by, the dedicated app is very well designed and makes browsing an absolute pleasure. According to WWF the free app edition is also available on Google Play (I have yet to suss it out though, so it might not yet be available in Greece) & Amazon Marketplace. And, if all else fails, issues are also …

Sunday Manicure (Vol.13)

Products used: Erre Due Diamond Base Coat 6.49€ Essie Winter 2013 Collection no. 852 ‘Sable Collar 12.50€ Erre Due Ceramic Top Coat 6.49€ First Impressions: Yesterday morning I went looking for Essie Resort 2014 (as promised). Turns out, the new shades won’t be available before Feb. 10th. I was faced with a “be-flexible-or-go-home-disillusioned” moment and (since two of the Winter 2013 colors, which I hadn’t been able to previously find, were now in)… I chose wisely. As a result, Sunday Manicure is now proud to present: Sable Collar. Essie labeled this a “luxurious, pearlescent cocoa plum” which saves me the trouble of trying to describe it myself. All I’m gonna say is: this is an absolutely wonderful color & (if you haven’t snatched it up, yet) I recommend you buy it. As far as I am concerned, it’s destined to be a Top5 shade for the rest of the winter! On to more practical matters, this is very “what-you-see-is-what-you-get” in terms of color & could theoretically be opaque in as little as one coat (I …

Fancy a Resort Fling?

I know I do! Essie’s 2014 Resort Collection is out and with a total of four gorgeous shades -there’s something there to intrigue everyone: The collection includes 3 pastels and one dark shade: – Cocktails & Coconuts (described as a ‘subtle, shimmering warm sand’) – Find me an Oasis (described as a ‘refreshing ice blue’) – Resort Fling (described as an ‘alluring coral peach’) – Under the twilight (described as a ‘provacative smokey plum’)I am personally beyond obsessed with the last two which, unless I somehow manage to snatch the 4 piece Resort Mini Cube online, I am going to try and get in-store tomorrow. All purchases will, of course, be featured on ‘Sunday Manicure’ ASAP,  so stay tuned…

Clinique & Body Shop Haul

Going through my HTC gallery yesterday, I realized how I had all those photos of recent beauty buys ready for their relevant posts – but had yet to actually publish any of them (mainly due to the fact that I meant to try the products first…then got slightly side-tracked). It was most definitely time for some of them to ‘feel the love’, so here’s my ‘Clinique & Body Shop Haul’ (aka.Haul no.1). Above, from left to right: Lancome – ‘La Vie Est Belle’ & YSL – ‘La Nuit De L’Homme’ perfume samples (free with purchase), The Body Shop Lip Scuff, Clinique Chubby Sticks (from top to bottom: Intense Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in 01. Curviest Caramel, Shadow Tint for Eyes in 11. Portly Plum & 06. Mighty Moss), The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Lip Balm The two free samples are unfortunately not to my liking – ‘La Vie Est Belle’ especially so, since it’s very sweet (a quality which I hate in a scent). I’m more of a warm/woody/spicy smell fan, myself – so I’ll be …

Design Obsession of the Day…

It’s no big secret that I’m a big fan of anything gadget-y & tech-y, so there was absolutely no way I’d be able to resist what I bumped into the other day. Ladies & Gents, I present to you.. (drumroll please) .. the Ziiiro Mercury Watch: According to the company “Ziiiro Mercury displays time in a simple and unique way. The tip of the inner swirl represents the current hour, while the outer swirl displays the minutes, with a continuous gradient movement showing the passing through time.” Ain’t that totally sci- fi? Hehe… This fabulous piece of design comes in 5 colors (black-purple, black-magenta, black-ocean, silver-magenta and silver-ocean combos) and retails at 149€, with free international standard delivery. For more information (and the full array of products) you can visit the Ziiiro website. Ps. If you fancy a taste of what owning one of these would be like (and are an Apple fan), be sure to try the ZeroWatch App (available for iPhone, iPad & iPod Touch). {Image © Ziiiro}
