NYFW Darlings (Vol.6): Naeem Khan

Today “NYFW Darlings’ is dedicated to indian- born Naeem Khan and his Fall 2014 RTW collection. With lots of gorgeous dresses in black, deep red, gold and animal print this easily found (and currently holds) a special place in my heart. Here’s my 12 favorite pieces, followed (after the ‘break’) by the rest of the collection… {Images: NYMag/The Cut}

Sunday Manicure (Vol.16)

Products used: Erre Due Diamond Base Coat 6.49€ Korres Nail Colour no. 23 ‘Cyclamen’ 8€ Erre Due Ceramic Top Coat 6.49€ First Impressions: In keeping with the lighter & Spring-ier shade focus, I went for Korres’ no.23 – a cyclamen pink/ fuschia creme- for this week’s mani. The shade is slightly darker than what it looks like in the photo (I really should invest in some sort of studio lighting contraption) but, other than that, I’ve got no grievances today… The color payoff was quite good (got two coats on in the photo), the consistency was easy to work with (albeit a bit thick), the drying time was satisfactory and the finish as glossy as ever (coupled by my top coat, it literally made photographing quite a chore). As I said last time, @ less than 7 or 8€ a pop (depending on where you buy, apparently) I think Korres’ polishes are great value for money (& equal, or better, quality than some of the higher-end ones).

Beauty Obsession of the Day…

Bumped into this new range while browsing around BeautyBay today – and felt like it was something I needed to share with all of you. I personally find it terribly innovative and clever and am dying to try it out. According to the UK company that has launched these “you call all the shots” (pun intended) by totally customizing “your own personal luxury shampyou blend that perfectly matches your own personal needs”. Apparently, the way it works is this: You start by choosing a base blend fragrance (there’s 4: Bakhour, Black Pepper + Citrus, Lemon + Verbena & Rosemary + Mint), then add any two super-serum shots and… mix! For locks that need extra pampering there’s also the Crème de Concoction Conditioner (scented with Cashmere + White Lilly). The shampoo retails for £14.00 (€15.45), the conditioner for £16.00 (€22.47) and they can all be customized and ordered online via the dedicated website (or via BeautyBay, ASOS, BeautyMart and Selfridges). I think I’ll go for the Bakhour base blend with the ‘Beautiful Brunette’ & ‘Turn Up …

NYFW Darlings (Vol.5): Jenny Packham

Goodmorning everyone! Today’s  ‘NYFW Darlings’ (Vol.5) features the Jenny Packham Fall 2014 RTW collection. Ι have long been a fan of her gorgeous dresses and streamlined silhouettes, but her latest collection literally blew me away… With just the right balance of laid back and glamorous, her designs are certain to turn (quite a few) heads! Here’s my 12 favorite pieces, followed (after the ‘break’) by the rest of the collection: {Images: NYMag/The Cut}

Coming Soon: Bobbi Brown ‘Nectar & Nudes’ Spring 2014 Collection

The upcoming Bobbi Brown Spring 2014 collection with its shimmering nectars, soft taupes, rich browns and coral pinks is right up my alley – so much so, in fact, that I find myself wanting to buy literally everything! This might be the time to, finally, look upon the fact that there’s no Bobbi Brown counter around here (& it’s almost impossible to find an EU online shop that ships to Greece) in a positive light. That said, I’m not sure I’ll manage it… ‘Nectar & Nude’ (already available online) is set to launch at Bobbi Brown counters in March 2014. Should I somehow succeed in getting my paws near these (a weekend trip to Athens might just have to be involved here) & considering I kind of want to avoid bankrupcy, I think I’ll hold back (physical bonds might be in order) and just pick up the limited edition Nectar nail polish and the Nectar Shimmer Brick Compact. Are you a fan of ‘nude’, shimmer-y makeup and as excited about this release as I am? Which products …
