Beauty Obsession of the Day…

Clarins Ombre Minérale 4 Couleurs (Eye Quartet Mineral Palette Long-Lasting) in 11 Forest This quad is right up my alley with satin, glitter, matte and frost mineral eyeshadows in some of my most flattering colors: khaki, brown/taupe, a green-based charcoal and a shimmery golden beige. At $42 (still need to find out the exact price on the Greek market), it places itself firmly on my “to buy next” beauty items’ list… Have any of you tried this? And if so, what did you think?

Karlie Kloss for Lancaster Paris

Karlie Kloss is the face of Lancaster Paris‘ Spring 2014 campaign – in which she is seen posing around Manhattan, sporting a series of amazing bags from the French label’s range. A clever move by Lancaster, considering it’s currently trying to make a mark on the US market. Here’s some of the campaign’s shots: {All images by Guy Aroch, for Lancaster Paris/ © Lancaster Paris}

‘Heart-Shaped Box’ by Joe Hill ~ A Review

First of all, let me admit that I hadn’t a clue who Joe Hill was, until about a month ago. I then bumped into a review of NOS4A2 on Tanya Patrice’s blog, Girlxoxo – and thought it sounded like a great read for the holiday season. With ample time ahead of me before Christmas and, given the fact that I usually prefer getting to know new authors by reading their debut novels, I looked at Hill’s bibliography to figure out where I should start. Heart- Shaped Box is what came up and it was in the readers’ reactions to that, that the key to Hill’s true identity lay… Now, I can only imagine how tough it must be to fill dad’s (call me King, Stephen King) shoes, still Hill not only does an excellent job of that but also manages to hold his very own while at it. Heart- Shaped Box is a well thought out horror story, with characters that feel real, are well developed and arrestingly loveable (albeit a bit dark). Hill “pressure …

A very… Alessi Christmas

Last week I fell head over hills for the gorgeous porcelain Alessi nativity I saw, in one of the festively decorated shop windows downtown… Alessi Porcelain Nativity Set (60-75€, depending on the color) Yesterday I had a look at the official Alessi website and realised (can’t believe I hadn’t done before really, since I am a big fan of the company) that, apart from all their fabulous Christmas figurines, they also have a collection of hand- painted, glass baubles that are amazingly cute and would look fantastic on any Chistmas tree, should one be able to afford the… spicy pricetag (the 9cm diameter baubles are 60€ per set of 4, the 4cm ones are 49-35 & 22€ per set of 5-3 & 2 respectively). Everything is available to buy via Alessi online (you have to chose the store, depending on your country of residence/ delivery by clicking here and then selecting the corresponding country flag). If you are one of those who prefer a “hands-on” approach to their shopping you can, of course, also find …
