Pai ~ A Rampant Love Affair

It all started with me ordering the Pai Copaiba & Zinc Perfect Balance Blemish Serum (which I am afraid to say I was so eager to try that I forgot to photograph properly – but I do believe I’ve got a snapshot of on my Instagram account) based on all the rave reviews by well established beauty bloggers, like Estee of ‘Essie Button’ and Ruth Crilly of ‘A model Recommends’. Now, I have to admit I was not a fan of its (very unique) fragrance and slightly “tacky” texture at first, but I did stick with it and boy have I been compensated by the results (not even a single major spot has reared its ugly head since I started using it, not even the persistent hormonal cysts I used to get around those days of the month). Impressed by the brand (& happy to have found an all natural, organic and animal friendly company whose products actually deliver on their promises) I proceeded to buy the Camellia & Rose Gentle Hydrating Cleanser and the …

A 15 Item Nordstrom Wishlist

Going through my draft posts yesterday, I realised that this one had somehow fallen through the cracks and never been completed/ published as intended 8 (!) months ago. Despite the amount of time that has passed, I still find it 100% relevant, especially since (*shock, horror*) I have not yet got around to purchasing any of the items mentioned. So, without further ado, here’s my (much neglected)  ’15 Item Nordstrom Wishlist’: LORAC ‘PRO’ Palette (38.91€) Jouer Anti Blemish Matte Primer (35.20€) Sara Happ ‘The Lip Scrub™ – Crème Brûlée’ Lip Exfoliator (22.23€) Jane Iredale ‘Magic Mitt’ Makeup Remover (13.90€) Mario Badescu Drying Cream (15.75€) BeautyBlender ‘Blendercleanser Solid’ Makeup Sponge Cleanser (14.78€) TheBalm® ‘Nude’tude Naughty’ Eyeshadow Palette (33.35€) Kiehl’s ‘Midnight Recovery Concentrate’ Elixir (42.62€/ 64.85€) Smashbox ‘Photo Finish’ Light Foundation Primer (33.35€) Mario Badescu Drying Lotion (15.75€) Deborah Lippmann ‘The Stripper to Go’ Nail Lacquer Remover Finger Mitts (11.12€) Clarisonic ‘Mia 2 – Pink’ Sonic Skin Cleansing System (138.04€) Smashbox ‘Full Exposure’ Eye Palette with Mascara (48.17€) Lipstick Queen ‘Velvet Rope’ Lipstick, in Black Tie (46.32€) …

Need to be FABulous…

Look Fantastic is finally stocking First Aid Beauty products (which I’ve been extra tempted to try for quite a while now) and, of course, I couldn’t help but put together a little wishlist. Having battled with cystic acne in my mid twenties & being now faced with the left over scarring and over pigmentation (plus the odd, ol’ Vesuvius of a cyst – especially around those days of the month) two of my Top 3 products were bound to be geared towards that. Enter First Aid Beauty’s Skin Rescue Purifying Mask (29.26€): a peel-off detox formula, which promises to reduce old spot pigmentation and Skin Rescue Blemish Patrol Pads (29.26€): tea tree oil/ salicylic acid and Evermat soaked pads meant to improve skin’s texture & reduce sebum production. Recent concerns over my tired- looking, dark circle- prone eyes (and first fine lines) dictated the third and last product on my wishlist: the brand’s Eye Duty Triple Remedy (34.58€) – an innovative formula that promises to reduce dark circles, brighten the eye area, improve the appearance …

Beauty Obsession of the Day

Been looking for a good, once-a-week, mask to add to my beauty regime and this (currently on the ‘What’s New’ section of Cult Beauty, here) seems to fit the bill perfectly. According to the website, it “contains White Clay to gently draw embedded toxins from the skin, combined with anti-bacterial Lavender to battle blemishes into submission” and is great for “spot-prone or easily offended complexions”, leaving skin soft while still combating excess oiliness. At around 33€ for the 100mm tube, I personally find it reasonably priced and will be giving it a try in the near (if not immediate – since I’ve been mulling over a Cult Beauty purchase anyway) future…

Sephora Haul

A couple of weeks ago, I headed over to Sephora with the (very honest and very innocent) intention of buying hairspray. Then…this, somehow, happened: Above, (kinda) clockwise: Benefit ‘World Famous Neutrals’ Eye Palette & ‘The Porefessional’ Primer, L’Oreal Elnett Satin Extreme Hold Hairspray, Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara, Sephora Cotton Flower Moisturizing Hand Cream The only thing that wasn’t a complete impulse buy was the Benefit ‘Porefessional’, which I have been meaning to get for a while (and which, in my defense, was 35% off at the time). The eye palette (also at 35% off) was picked up instead of the Too Faced ‘Naked Eye’ one (which was not in stock) and has proved to be amazing and, when used with a primer, extra long-lasting. All six colors included (see below) are subtle & sultry at the same time and can easily be played down or up – for morning/ evening looks respectively. The Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara was something I kept hearing about and felt that I needed (my bottom lashes are real tiny, to …
