Beauty Obsession of the Day…

To those of you who know me, personally, this is sure to seem like quite the odd choice. For the rest, let me explain: I have never really been a fan of Kenzo fragrances, which I always found too flowery and girly for my liking. That basically means it’s been forever since I’ve even contemplated stopping by the Kenzo counter to check anything out. This weekend, my friend K. visited from Athens and we arranged to meet for lunch, dessert and a cup of coffee. On our way we, typically, stopped by one of the major department stores downtown to check out a couple of things (she wanted to buy an umbrella, I wanted to find out whether the Max Factor Creme Puff Blushes were in yet). After having, inadvertently, bought a Bourjois Rouge Velvet and a Chanel Rouge Coco (more on that in a future post) and while on the way out, I crossed the store’s perfume corner where – for some inexplicable reason – this rose gold bottle (gorgeously designed by Karim Rashid) …

Clinique & Body Shop Haul

Going through my HTC gallery yesterday, I realized how I had all those photos of recent beauty buys ready for their relevant posts – but had yet to actually publish any of them (mainly due to the fact that I meant to try the products first…then got slightly side-tracked). It was most definitely time for some of them to ‘feel the love’, so here’s my ‘Clinique & Body Shop Haul’ (aka.Haul no.1). Curviest Caramel, Shadow Tint for Eyes in 11. Portly Plum & 06. Mighty Moss), The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Lip Balm The two free samples are unfortunately not to my liking – ‘La Vie Est Belle’ especially so, since it’s very sweet (a quality which I hate in a scent). I’m more of a warm/woody/spicy smell fan, myself – so I’ll be …

Darkest Obsession…

One thing that characterizes me is the fact that I get bored extremely easily (with all that entails). That said, once I have found something I love, I tend to be loyal to a fault and will take forever to “stray”.Case in point: my perfume. I have tried countless different ones but have only stuck by exactly two, in my life thus far. In my early teens I fell in love with “L’ Eau d’ Issey” by Issey Miyake, which I ended up using daily, until I was about halfway through Uni. Some people (including my boyfriend from that era) say that whenever they smell that they, still, immediately think of me… After a long period of consideration, I then opted for “2” by Comme des Garcons, which has been my go- to scent ever since. This past year, my nemesis resurfaced. And if that wasn’t enough, a sudden swerve in the direction I though my life was headed in, made it imperative to give in to it, if only to stow away painful memories. Considering …
