‘NYFW Darlings’ (Vol.4) is dedicated to the timeless genius that is Diane Von Furstenberg. Despite the fact that her latest collection wasn’t 100% up my alley (slightly too many mixed prints and gold, for my liking) I felt like I had to include her in the series – if only because of having loved her designs throughout the years. Today is Christian Siriano‘s turn to be featured on ‘NYFW Darlings’ and I’m kinda wondering… what can one say about this guy? Following his win on the 4th season of ‘Project Runway’, Christian launched his label in 2008 – with phenomenal (& well deserved) success. His Fall RTW Collection was a bit of a mixed bag for me, but with the yay’s outweighing the nay’s (and with lots of my favorite dark colors) it managed to win me over. I’m back today with the second installment of ‘NYFW Darlings’, featuring the amazing Bibhu Mohapatra. Now, I have to admit to not being aware of his work before last week, but now? O-M-G, it’s love! I especially like the fusion of Asian and European influences as well as the sharp, clean lines of his designs – and will definitely be keeping an eye on him from now on. With New York’s Fashion Week all done and dusted, I thought I’d do a Top 10 of my favorite collections. Labeled ‘NYFW Darlings’ this series will feature (in alphabetical order) the designers that took me by storm & had me wishing for a lottery win/unexpected inheritance/ money drop from heaven – just so that I could get my hands on some of their stunning pieces… There will be no commentary involved, as all the designs featured actually speak volumes for themselves.
