Coming Soon: Bobbi Brown ‘Nectar & Nudes’ Spring 2014 Collection

The upcoming Bobbi Brown Spring 2014 collection with its shimmering nectars, soft taupes, rich browns and coral pinks is right up my alley – so much so, in fact, that I find myself wanting to buy literally everything! This might be the time to, finally, look upon the fact that there’s no Bobbi Brown counter around here (& it’s almost impossible to find an EU online shop that ships to Greece) in a positive light. That said, I’m not sure I’ll manage it… ‘Nectar & Nude’ (already available online) is set to launch at Bobbi Brown counters in March 2014. Should I somehow succeed in getting my paws near these (a weekend trip to Athens might just have to be involved here) & considering I kind of want to avoid bankrupcy, I think I’ll hold back (physical bonds might be in order) and just pick up the limited edition Nectar nail polish and the Nectar Shimmer Brick Compact. Are you a fan of ‘nude’, shimmer-y makeup and as excited about this release as I am? Which products …

Revlon by Marchesa – Red Carpet Collection

Originally posted on A Stairway To Fashion:
Revlon and Marchesa came together one more time, for the third time, and created the “Red Carpet” beauty collection. “Beauty plays such a huge role in completing a red carpet look and we wanted this collection to be representative of some of our most iconic red carpet moments,” said Keren Craig, co-founder and textile director for Marchesa. “We were inspired by the bespoke elements found in the Marchesa collections and translated them to the packaging through beautiful hues and intricate designs. This exclusive collection makes it possible for every woman to have her own show-stopping beauty moment.” The two giants, in the honour of their third collaboration funded $ 15.000 towards the Half the Sky – a program that helps the fight of women and children against the oppressions and empower women worldwide. “It was very important to us, on a personal level, that this collection have an added philanthropic element. In fact, Revlon’s dedication to charity was a driving force behind our decision to work with the company, as…

Coming Soon: MAC ‘A Fantasy of Flowers’ Spring 2014 Collection

Not sure if you’ve seen the upcoming MAC ‘A Fantasy of Flowers’ collection or what you think of it. I, for one, have and cannot wait for the March international release! I have already sussed out what I’d like to try and should now start saving towards that, I suppose. In fact, I think I’ll put myself on a little ‘spending ban’ this month – in view of what’s to come… Here’s an overview of the collection: Mineralize Eye Shadow Quads ($21) In The Meadow: Icy shimmering white, dirty olive green, golden mint green & pale yellow Pink Sensibilities: Pinky brown, chocolate brown, yellow pink & icy blue pink Golden Hours: Copper bronze, golden brown, soft golden peach & pale yellow gold Great Beyond: Deep blue, dusky plum, icy white lilac & soft mauve brown Mineralize Blush ($25) Azalea in the Afternoon: Midtone blue pink Petal Power: Coral pink with gold shimmer Mineralize Skin Finish ($30) Stereo Rose: Coral with golden/bronze shimmering nuances Perfect Topping: Pale pearlized pink Nail Lacquer ($16) Girl Trouble: Super glitter …

Sunday Manicure (Vol.7)

Products used: Erre Due Diamond Base Coat 6.49€ Essie Belugaria Collection Polish in Luts of Lux 12.00€ First Impressions: A little twist on the classic holiday manicure colors this week, with a blue lapis lazuli shimmer from Essie’s Belugaria Collection. “Lots of Lux” is the only color that did it for me in this collection. Everything else looked… well, either way too much (like “Belugaria”) or just not right (like “Peak of Chic” which actually scared me a little – sorry Essie!).  My photo does not do the color or lovely shimmer of this much justice. The actual shade is a bit lighter than it appears here (but not as light as on the Essie website) and has got a great deal of cutesy sparkle to it.  The polish has a great consistency and is very easy to apply – despite its particular nature (a bit like O.P.I. Liquid Sand). Applied 2 coats, over a base, with no topcoat as per Essie’s recommendation. Drying time was minimal and the end result is lovely – albeit …

Sunday Manicure (Vol.6)

Products used: Avon Nail Experts Advanced Mira- Cuticle Vanishing Complex & Avon Nail Experts Revitacool Base Coat – No Longer Available Avon Speed Dry+ 30 polish in Pronto Purple 4.90€ Erre Due Ceramic Top Coat 6.50€ First Impressions: Taking a little break from holiday colors, with a bit of a summery purple in the middle of winter. I am a big fan of the Avon Speed Dry+ 30 range, mainly cause of its fab colors and the fact that it delivers on what it promises: dry nails in 30”. That said, I found this particular color a tad hard to apply -got a few “bold spots” on my first coat but, thankfully, those almost disappeared after the second one (so this is a definite two-coater). The Erre Due topcoat gave the color an amazing shine, to which the picture unfortunately does not do any justice. Lasting power will have to be discussed in the customary “next week” update but, for the time being, I do not think I would hesitate to recommend this – it’s …
