Need to try > Body Shop Honey Bronze (& new eyeliner) Range

It has become quite evident to me lately that I am developing a bit of a Body Shop addiction. I guess it’s no wonder really, what with the company stepping up its game greatly these last few years, but I often find myself browsing their shelves (and, most often than not, leaving with a couple of new things in my possession). During my latest trip there I picked up the Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream (which I’m still trialing and will review soon) and also checked out the new Honey Bronze collection products – resulting in a bit of a “to try” list (as featured above). I am especially interested in the little, handy Highlighting Dome – which swatched dreamily in-store and immediately got me wondering what its effect would be like on a fully made- up face. The Face Gel and Bronzing Powder sound quite intriguing, too – especially now that it’s still early days tan- wise and we could all use a bit of a boost in the summer glow department. As for the …

The MPP (MAC Pro-Palette) Project > Intro

You probably can’t really tell, since I don’t post photos of makeup looks on Lifestyle Counter, but I am a huge eye-shadow girl. I could happily use the same base/blush/lash products everyday but I need to change it up daily when it comes to eye color (& lipstick, of course, but that kind of goes without saying). I do currently own a number of eye palettes (Too Faced Natural Eyes, Benefit World Famous Neutrals, AVON Hollywood Collection True Color 8 in 1 in Silver Screen, AVON True Color Eyeshadow Quad in Stone Taupes, KIKO Color Fever Eyeshadow Palette in 100, Sleek 731 Ultra Mattes V2 and Sleek 596 Bad Girl) along with some odd bits and bobs (Max Factor Excess Shimmers in 30 Onyx/ 25 Bronze and 20 Copper, MAC Sable, MAC Woodwinked, MAC Lucky Green and MAC Goldmine) but have somehow never really got into thinking about putting together a customized MAC Pro Palette until now (which I find extremely weird, but anyway). There comes a time for everything though, and considering my minor …

Need to Try > Smoky Poppy Body Care and Makeup

Contrary to many of my friends I cannot, in good faith, say that I am a loyal fan of The Body Shop. Fair enough I used to love it when I was younger, but growing up I somehow gravitated away from it. I still, however, find some of their products (like, for example, the Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream) to be absolutely amazing – and am often intrigued by their launches (as was the case with their earlier Shimmer Waves and their recent Red Musk range). This month their Smoky Poppy body care range has literally got me on my toes, with its sleek and sensual black & red packaging and its promise of a fragrance based on “a captivating blend of sultry spices, elegant florals and earthy woody notes” (which just happens to be right up my alley). The corresponding Smoky Poppy makeup also looks like something I can’t really frown upon – with some gorgeous nail colors and the company’s first ever chubby lip (& cheek) pencils thrown in for good measure. I …

Look Fantastic/ Bare Minerals Haul

I’m back with yet another beauty haul which took shape, very innocently, when I tried to re-stock my Caudalie Hand Cream via LookFantastic. I had been hearing reading loads about the Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie lipsticks and glosses and since we can’t really get them in store where I come from, I thought I’d briefly check out swatches online and order one of each, just to see what the fuss was about. Fast forward to a couple of days ago, when I received my LookFantastic package containing: – One 30 ml Caudalie Hand Cream – One Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lip Gloss (in Maverick) – Three (!) Bare Minerals Marvelous Moxie Lipsticks (in Get Ready, Raise the Bar & Live Large) In my defense, I was getting one thing delivered anyway (plus Bare Minerals is so budget friendly), so it all kinda made perfect sense. Now, I haven’t actually used the hand cream yet – since I am still only half way through the 3 tubes of L’Occitane I bought myself just before Christmas (!) …

Going through my draft posts yesterday, I realised that this one had somehow fallen through the cracks and never been completed/ published as intended 8 (!) months ago.
