Beauty Obsession of the Day…

I have, thus far, been extremely good about not caving in and buying… well, everything Hourglass came out with in 2014 (especially the Ambient Lighting Powders and Ambient Lighting Blushes, which I have to admit to being ridiculously tempted by). I suspect this has more to do with the fact that the brand is so hard to get one’s hands on in Greece (and with the rather shocking prices) and less with my actual self-restrain but it is the end result that counts, right? Today, however, I saw something I will most definitely be unable to resist. Enter the Hourglass Modernist Eyeshadow Palette (an “artist-inspired” , 5- color wonder that comes in 7 glorious shade combinations). I immediately fell for the ‘Obscura’ one, which features some of my all time favorite earthy tones: cream, smokey brown, rose gold (!), coffee & a cool bronze (!!).  These little gems are currently only available to Sephora VIB Rouge Members (if that, since they all seem to be sold out at the time of writing) but should soon become …

Makeup of the Day…

Getting up for work at 6.30am sucks. Having about 30′ available for your whole skincare/ makeup routine sucks even worse. I somehow always manage to get everything done in time but, in the mad ‘locate keycard/ grab keys/ find phone/ organize bag/ head out the door’ dash that ensues, rarely have time (let alone the presence of mind) to  take a ‘Makeup of the Day’ photo. This morning was a shining exception. I was a bit late getting up, which meant I had even less time than usual. Having completed my usual AM routine (i.e. cleanse and tone, with Clinique’s Anti Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam and Clarifying Lotion respectively, then hydrate with the Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Stay- Matte Hydrator), I opted to keep things light and easy… First I applied my all- time- favorite Tea Tree Flawless BB Creme by the Body Shop, mixed with the tiniest bit of my trusted MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation. My skin’s been acting up lately, so I needed that bit of extra coverage – and I have found …

New Kid on the Beauty Block…

Above, from left to right: Magnetic Eye Color Pencil in Twilight, Magnetic Eye Color Pencil in Angel, Lip/ Cheek Pencil in Mystic, Lip/ Cheek Pencil in SinA couple of days ago I was introduced to new cosmetics’ label: Nudestix (through a relative EssieButton post). The ‘your skin/eyes/ lips but better’ trend has always been a favorite of mine – so I was quick to visit the brand’s website and check out its current offerings. I wasn’t too excited over the mascara (how many tubes can a girl really own?) or multi- purpose eye pencils (bit too nude for my liking) and I’m not sure I’d be much interested in the concealer, either. That said, I love the ‘Magnetic Eye Color’ pencils, which I’ll promptly be ordering in ‘Twilight’ and ‘Angel’ and the dual- purpose Lip/ Cheek pencils in ‘Mystic’ and ‘Sin’ – for day and night respectively… All of the above products retail at £24.00 each and can be ordered online, via Space.NK.

Beauty Obsession of the Day

Marc Jacobs is generally not a (beauty) brand I’m that interested in but, ever since I first saw this a few months back I have been beyond obsessed. With three (gorgeous) mattes & four shimmers, packed in an ultra glossy & sleek packaging – how could I not be? Mentions and reviews by fav bloggers such as Vivianna Does Makeup & EssieButton certainly haven’t helped much, either. Unfortunately, Sephora does not ship to Greece and  I have yet to find an e-shop that does. Any suggestions?

Sunday Manicure (Vol.21)

Essie Products used: ‘First Base’ Base Coat 15.00€ No. 859, ‘Under the Twilight’ 12.50€ ‘Good to Go’ Top Coat 15.00€ Part of the 2014 Resort collection, ‘Under the Twilight’ which is being marketed as a “provocative smoky plum” is a dark, aubergine- like purple creme (sincere apologies for it looking blue in the photo, the shade is real tough to picture). The formula is FANTASTIC: extra smooth and extremely pigmented (looking at the rich, fully opaque color I was tempted to screw the lid back on after the 1st coat). All in all a very chic, albeit not extremely original and very none- resort like, shade which I would still recommend to anyone who likes dark, goth- looking colors. Buy now, enjoy in the Fall – I say…
